[The video feed flicks on, showing itself to be in Ilex Forest. Looks like Snake must be taking his sweet time to get to Goldenrod this time-- or his back really does hurt that much. Whatever the case may be, the video turns to look at Snake, but... There's nothing there.]

Hn. I've been doing some research of my own... The townspeople talk about a Guardian who lives in this forest... ...Could that Guardian be a Pokemon?

[Slowly Snake sits up... at first it looks like a bunch of grass but then the grass effect disappears, revealing Snake. Octo-camo had its uses. He reaches for the PokeGear, presumably held by Sunny, and turns it off.]

Maybe not to us, but there are a whole bunch of creatures that live in forests. People used to live in forests a long time ago, some still do. [Shrugs.] Think of it as praying to a higher power... I sure as hell don't believe in anything like that, but some people do. This could be the same.

I don't know much, but from what the people in Azalea told me, the Guardian protects the forest in some way... I've heard warnings to not 'disturb the Shrine' that's dedicated to the Guardian in this forest.

I've been here a while... Since last August, I guess... [Tilts his head a bit.] The Gym Leaders here are powerful, you'll need to be really strong to defeat them... This is my second time in the Forest.

Nno, I went back to Azalea Town to get one of the badges that I'd missed. Now I'm headed to Goldenrod, then to Violet City again to meet with a few friends.

A lot of reasons... I was trying to catch up with my friend, I wasn't strong enough to take on Falkner at the time, I didn't really care about the badges... Take your pick.

From what I've seen, Pokemon are pretty low leveled... It's the other trainers and Gym Leaders that you have to worry about. Still, using the wrong type against a wild Pokemon could get you in trouble, too.
