[ Video ; Action ]

[The video feed flicks on, showing itself to be in Ilex Forest. Looks like Snake must be taking his sweet time to get to Goldenrod this time-- or his back really does hurt that much. Whatever the case may be, the video turns to look at Snake, but... There's nothing there.]

Hn. I've been doing some research of my own... The townspeople talk about a Guardian who lives in this forest... ...Could that Guardian be a Pokemon?

[Slowly Snake sits up... at first it looks like a bunch of grass but then the grass effect disappears, revealing Snake. Octo-camo had its uses. He reaches for the PokeGear, presumably held by Sunny, and turns it off.]

Well last time we talked you didn't correct when I said it. Would you rather I say old man instead.

......Snake
Alight I'll call you Snake then. You can call me Killua.

Okay then Snake, what the heck are you doing?

Just a little bit of training.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you pokémon training? Cause it looks like your training for the army.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh Why are you doing army training, Snake. I don't think there a military in this place.

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe not, but there are skills I learned back in my old training that could be useful here, too. You never know when you might need them.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you mean skills like always be alert, survey your surroundings, look for any & all exits, and other basic survival stuff.

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, those are just the basics, though. But when catching and training Pokemon, they're pretty useful.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Killua respect for old people has goes up, even if Snake isn't really an old man.]

I see, you do have a point.

......So do wild pokémon ambushing you or do you ambush them instead?

I've studied their ambushing tactics, and I've managed to ambush them a few times. It really depends on where you are, the direction of the wind, the time of day... All of these things come into play. Pokemon have a very acute sense of smell, so it's important that if you want to ambush them, to smell like the area you're in.

SO that what your doing right now, making you sure you smell like your surrounding.

Hey, I'm going into the Dark cave soon do you have any advice. Other than stuff about the ledges.

[video] :D

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Something like that.

Try to avoid stepping on large boulders, keep a Water Pokemon with you, and really try not to make loud noises. The noise will echo throughout the cavern and disturb quite a lot of Pokemon.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, but does it really have to be a water type cause all I have on me is a ghost pokémon.

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
... Well, water types are strong against rocks, so...

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
[he starts pouting]

But I don't have any water types. Just a ghost-type and newly hatched fire type.

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
You only have two Pokemon? What level are they?

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
I have a level 9 misdreavus and level 1 vulpix. I'm hoping to get a rock-type in the cave for the gym challenge.

[Killua uses puppy dog eyes]

Is it not enough.

[identity profile] imthe-shit.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
... Ahh... Well, you can probably weaken a Geodude with your Misdreavus... [Rubs his head.] Are you trying to fight Falkner? His team's a high level.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I want to fight Falkner, what level is his pokémon.

They're all over level 30. You're going to have to train harder.

[identity profile] killer-sweets.livejournal.com 2011-03-08 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Level 30. That would explain why people get stuck in violet for so long. Training won't be easy but it is doable.

The first badge I picked up was the one in Goldenrod.
