[The video starts with Snake, who is near the water in Violet City. He's shirtless, surprisingly, with a towel around his neck, and he's forcing himself to do push-ups. It's early morning, so luckily not too hot (about 6am). With him is Mk II, who is managing the PokeGear. Snake is keeping himself active, forcing his body to move even when it gets too tired... He's not ready to be old. He's not ready to be that guy that sits around waiting for death.

Despite his warning from Naomi... He couldn't just give up. And besides... Somewhere in this city, Liquid Snake was waiting for him. He had to be ready at all times... No matter what.

His Pokemon were doing all right... The last few days, he'd been training them just outside of Violet, making sure to avoid the west side of town... He hadn't spotted Liquid in the east side, so might as well avoid that part... The only annoying thing was that every time he left and re-entered Violet, the music would change and restart.]

Hnn...hngh...Hrhgn... [Grunting as he does push-ups... he's sweating, but despite being old, he looks pretty good. He's in good shape for an old geezer... Though it helps that the aging was accelerated.

It's the only good thing about this... He still looked good despite his physical age.] Hhnn... Mk II, thanks. [Sits, and gestures for his partner to come over.] I'll watch it later.

So ... didja meet up with Otacon okay? _{[She did talk with the nerd since getting back, but all he told her was that Snake was there and Liquid didn't know yet. And then she'd passed out in one of the inn's rooms and not moved for like twelve hours.]}

What are you planning to do if Liquid finds out you're here and goes all... _{[Insert numerous expressive gestures for 'crazy' here.]}

... [Stands up, grunting, wiping sweat from his chest and shoulders.]

The only thing I can do. Face him, protect the people that are close to me. And hope to hell he doesn't try to raze Violet.

_{[She nods to that, but looks thoughtful. Brows furrowing a bit. Too much to appreciate the eyecandy.]}

... In the short time I've known him, he's proven that he's totally nuts, but...

.... He's also my friend. ... And I really, really hope it won't come down to the worst-case scenario.

_{[It's probably the most flat-out serious tone she's spoken to with Snake thus far.]

[Heather generally doesn't like crazy people. They're a hell of a lot more trouble than they're usually worth and they also have that nasty tendency to start hurting people, usually. And Liquid's as crazy as they come. ... But he is her friend.]}

... I guess what I'm saying is, try not to... let it get to the point where someone has to die.

... [Frowns.]

For me, it's hard to hear that he has good people as friends... Considering the living hell he's turned my life into... in the time I'm from, he's leading an insurrection, planning to take over the world with his vast private military companies.

People are dying, and I'm trying to stop him... [Looks at Mk II, who's staring at Heather.] So... It's hard for me to forget that for the moment... To focus that this is not the same Liquid I know... That this world is separate from my trials.

I just hope I remember that... So I don't forget it all when I meet him here.

... Yeah. I don't-- .... I wouldn't expect you or anybody else to treat someone different just because they happen to have a few nice buddies. ... I know I wouldn't, if what they'd done to me was real bad. It'd be too hard for me to ... separate it. _{[And she hadn't, when she herself'd had to do something along the same lines.]}

_{[She wishes she could say she was surprised at hearing what Liquid was destined to do, but she's really not. She heard the rants. She saw that gleam in his eye. She watched the acrobatics. Heather's seen more insanity in her eighteen years of current life than the average layman does in decades, enough to recognize it when she sees it. It's ... depressing.]}

His name is Mk II. He's a Magnemite... Though he zones out a lot... So he's a daydreamer.

What's his name mean?

Mark II... it's something Otacon came up with for a little gadget that helps me in my time... A robot that can hold items and shock people, as well as scout out for enemies... he can do a lot of useful things.

It actually stands for Metal Gear Mk II, but I just call it the Mk II for short...

[...] It's a little weird to explain anymore unless you can understand all that, so, uh... Just a machine name.

_{[She was curious, though. The more she learned about this world the strange two friends she'd made in this place came from, the more curious she got. Otacon had seemed so down-to-earth, but this stuff sounded like science fiction. ... Not that she didn't believe it, though.]}
