014 [ video/action ] 4TH WALL
[ Snake had started to wish that he'd believed the various people telling him something weird was going on. Ash had been mentioning the lack of newbies in New Bark Town, other people mentioned the shift in weather, or how their Pokémon had been acting weird...
But Snake had just blocked it all out. He'd been too concerned with traveling to Violet City. It had been a long trek, and the weather had been too hot for that kind of traveling... It made it much longer, considering all the breaks he and Otacon took. His old body just couldn't make the trip in this heat... And it could have been because he was really sick of Violet City, despite having never been there this time around. So what should have been a single week ended up taking nearly two...
But throughout all of that, Snake hadn't taken to heart anything anyone had been saying, and now as a large Gekko loomed before him, the old soldier was wishing he'd paid a little more attention.
The creature let out a large "mooo", lifting up a single leg and attempting to slam it down on Snake. Luckily, Snake had started wearing his sneaking suit under his clothes, allowing him to perform difficult actions a bit easier... David let out a grunt, running back from the creature and dodge-rolling in order to avoid that foot. A cloud of dust and dirt flew up into the air, and the Irving readied its machine gun, trying to find Snake in the cloud.
It began to scan the area, looking for specific heat signatures... Yet finding none. The old man couldn't have gone far, but it didn't even appear to exist anymore! Letting out a disappointed sounding "moo", the Gekko turned around and began to slowly walk down the road, scanning around and searching out a new target. ]

[ Once the cloud had cleared, if one looked closely, they might notice the dirt-shaped man lying on the ground. Feeling that the Gekko had walked far enough, Snake slowly pushed himself up off the ground, the octo-camo reverting to its natural state. He let out an exhale, and pulled out his Gear and made a video post. ]
This is Snake. If you know what's good for you, stay away from Violet City and the surrounding area... We've got Gekko.
[ He knew he'd taken QUITE A GAMBLE on whether or not his octo-camo would work or not, but since it DID, he'd taken a quick check of his inventory and found his M4 Custom. It wouldn't do much against a Gekko, but it was at least SOMETHING. He just hoped no one would come to Violet, especially since it was THIS time of year... ]
[ooc: IGNORE SNAKE'S WARNINGS, EVERYONE'S ALLOWED \8D/ It might be pretty funny if people mistake it for a Pokemon because LOOK AT IT. IT'S A GIANT THING THAT MOOS. Also how did Snake throw off all his outer clothes before using his octocamo? ... WHO CARES METAL GEAR WE DON'T ASK THESE KINDS OF QUESTIONS ]

video;
[ Important question here, Snake. ]
video;
[ Oh, god no. ]
It's a large, bipedal war-machine that's heavily armored. You're better off running from it than trying to fight it.
video;
[ Her eyes widen for a moment or two before she gives a determined look. ]
But that's a bad thing, isn't it? I should really go and help out!
video;
[ Though... ]
Unless we found a way to temporarily disable it without anyone getting hurt...
video;
video;
Kalos?
video;
video;
..... I only know of two.
video;
... Having trouble, Snake?
video;
Raiden! You're here...? [ Did this mean that the treatment had worked? Raiden certainly LOOKED healthier than he had been after his fight with Vamp in South America. ]
video;
Do you need help?
video;
I guess you'd be able to make short work of it though. You didn't have a hard time with them last I saw.
video;
I'll be there shortly. Try to keep it distracted for now.
video;
video;
Maybe an electric type could be useful, but these things are heavily armored. It'd probably take several tanks just to take down one.
video;
[A beat, and then he shifts the camera to show the funky blades he has for his Maneuver Gear.]
Something that these could cut?
video;
Well, if you can cut through their thick skin, it might be useful... They have these little sensors on their heads that are weak, too.
It's just hard to get in close... Especially if there are others around.
action;
Even one handed.
Which is why there is now a crazy old man shooting awkwardly at the Gekko with his left hand in between trying to dodge it.
Good thing he doesn't normally have access to firearms and hopefully won't remember this when he goes back to being his proper age. We can only hope anyway.]
action;
Though the person he saw wasn't who he was expecting... And considering the events unfolding back home for him, his identification of the man might be a little off. ]
Liquid!
[ He hadn't noticed the lack of an arm yet, his mind much too focused on the face of the "crazy old man". It's only when he takes a moment to eye him up that he realizes... ]
... No... Ocelot? [ Shaking his head, Snake growls, taking out his M4 and aiming it. This wasn't going to help him very well, but at least he'd modified the hell out of this weapon, giving him a good sniper-shot. Looking through the lens, Snake lined up the cross-hairs and fired a single bullet; it whizzed past Ocelot's head and lodged itself straight into one of the Gekko's legs. ]
MMMOOOO! [ The creature bellowed, having lifted up its leg to try and squash Ocelot, but instead losing its balance somewhat due to the bullet in its leg. ]
Ocelot! MOVE NOW! [ Snake couldn't believe he was trying to help here... If this man had just died, Snake wouldn't have to worry about Liquid... But at the same time, it just wasn't in his nature. Two hands (or in this case, three) were better than one, and Snake could use help against the rampaging beast. ]
action;
He had mostly been shooting at it because it was a miniature Metal Gear that was clearly controlled by some sort of artificial intelligence and why not, really, but the voice startles him into nearly dropping his gun before he moves, and quickly, rolling out of the way before the thing can shoot him. Or crush him.
It's the voice that startles him the most, though, and once he's a safe distance away he stares at Snake like he's looking at a ghost.
He... looks a lot like John, except for the he's not missing an eye. And called him "Liquid" which is rather alarming.
So he's going to pretend that this doesn't bother him at all.]
What is this thing?
action;
[ ... ] Which I guess is why you tried. [ Ocelot being here wasn't the greatest thing that could happen, considering he was also missing an arm, but the old soldier would take any help at this point. ] I don't want to risk my team getting hurt, so I'm waiting until either it gets bored or I can get a clear shot.
I'd need a tank or a rail gun if I want to do any real damage.
action;
Only Ocelot.]
I thought this place didn't allow weapons?
[Which definitely seems to indicate that he's been here before.]
This city isn't going to have a rail gun unless it rains from the sky.
action;
[ Snake narrowed his eyes; had Ocelot been here before? Or was he here all along? No way, he would have known about this guy being here...
His hypothesizing had to wait, however, as the Gekko locks onto the two old men again, readying its machine gun. Snake notices this and gestures for Ocelot to follow him, running away. ]
action;
He's still not sure who this is because it can't be Big Boss, it can't be Solidus, and it certainly isn't Solid Snake, right?]
I've been here before. Though it was years ago, and it wasn't a long stay.
[Or, more accurately, The Machine has screwed with his memory since he never actually left.]
action;
[ What what what. Had Ocelot been here even before Snake was? That wasn't right... Unless all the people that were with him back then had all went back home, there'd be no one here still to remember him.
Snake is looking PRETTY bewildered. ]
That's... I want to say it's impossible, but hell, there's a damn Gekko here and magical creatures running all over the place. Not really the time to debate "possibilities".
Do you have anything on you that's stronger than a revolver?
action;
Ocelot's enjoying that look of bewilderment to much to be helpful at the moment.]
Unfortunately not.
There must be another way to disable it.
action;
Unfortunately, I'm not as agile, and I don't use a sword. And I bet you don't either.
[ He glanced at him, and then the missing arm. ]
... Oh wait, too soon, right?
action;
I'm not familiar familiar with that name, I'm afraid.
[He is familiar with the term "cyborg ninja" but that was in reference to Gray Fox.]
What's your name?
[Hold on here, he's pretty sure he knows who you are even though it should be impossible.]
action;
[ And of course it dawns on him that since this was an earlier version of Ocelot, then that would mean that of course he wouldn't recognize Snake.
The old solder stood his ground, though his posture seemed to falter a bit. ]
... Solid Snake.
action; sorry this is so late, I thought I'd replied to it already
Yes, it makes sense now. The voice is familiar. He was always the son who sounded closest to Big Boss in his youth, after all. How he'd come to live into old age, Ocelot couldn't be sure. Perhaps it was luck. Or perhaps the Patriots had gotten sloppy.
He laughs. It's a dark, amused noise.]
Of course. I should have expected as much.
That is A-OKAY
[ He knew what, of course. What happened to him was kind of funny, in a cruel and morbid kind of way... Snake just didn't enjoy hearing Ocelot laugh at him. Reminded him too much of the Liquid he had to deal with in 2014. ]
no subject
A shame, really.]
Nothing.
I'm simply surprised.
no subject
Yeah, well you're not the only one.
[ He frowned at Ocelot, taking out a Pokeball. ] We're going to have to beat that thing. I don't really have anything that can defeat it here; and we're out of big guns... [ He glares at Ocelot's stupid revolver. ] So we'll just have to deal.
[ Tossing the Ball, a large Rock Snake emerged, roaring proudly. It was S2. ] I'll just have to use brute force... its bullets won't be able to hurt a rock.
no subject
We'll have to improvise.
[At least Ocelot is going to agree for now. He grabs at one of the Pokeballs around his waist. Really, he shouldn't, given how unhappy both of them were, but this really isn't the time for that so he tosses it anyway. A Ghost-type emerges, making an unhappy noise as soon as it spots Ocelot, but he waves to indicate the Gekko.
Fighting something that could actually harm Genya doesn't seem to faze him.]
