[ Snake had missed Tenten's birthday, but then again, he wasn't much of a birthday kind of guy anyway. What was a lot more important to him was the fact that Otacon was finally in Mahogany... It felt a bit weird to see him. He wasn't sure if he was entirely over what happened a few years ago in this place, but it wasn't fair to blame this Otacon for that stuff.

What Snake didn't know was that his Bloober had gucked up the PokeGear, which made it nearly impossible to turn it off once it was on video, so it was either always video-recording, or always audio-recording. The best way to stop it was to muffle it under a bunch of things.

For now, Snake is standing just outside a cafe, avoiding the rain overhead, smoking a cigarette. Otacon was nearby... Snake had plans to give him Asimov, but he didn't want to disappoint the Ampharos. It would probably feel sad about it all. For the moment, the old soldier holds up his Pokegear and speaks into it. ]

Anyone have any recommendations for cleaning out a PokeGear that's been infused with Bloober goo? It's really nasty... I'm not sure how to go about cleaning it without just tossing it in a river. Any input would be appreciated, as long as it's not stupid.

I haven't really been making much of it. I haven't battled anyone since getting here... And I had a job for a bit when I was in Pallet, but that's not really helping me anymore.

There<s always the option of catching a Meowth and not letting it evolve until level thirty. That allows them to learn an attack that creates money.

... Sounds kind of fraudulent... Isn't that like printing money? You can get arrested for that, at least where I'm from... Not that desperate to make money.

You'd think they'd control that particular ability strictly, but they don't. I once asked my Persian to use Pay Day to buy a drink in the middle of the restaurant, and the cashier had no problems with that.

So where can I get a Meowth?

I got mine from a breeder that's long gone, but there are plenty of wild ones in towns and on the routes between Goldenrod and Olivine. Really, I'm surprised not every trainer around there has one... I think they offer them at the Breeding Centre, too.

I'm not sure there's anything around there that's worth going back to, unless you're on a route only two days away.

Sometime late last year... I'd gone over to the Kanto region and was planning on starting a new adventure over there, but after some strange stuff started to happen, I found myself in Mahogany town. No idea how I got there, but it was pretty weird.

Oh, one of those times. Whatever moves us around on those days can be helpful sometimes, but it can also be more trouble than it's worth.

At the time, I guess it was handy... This was where I needed to be.

But now, it's just kind of a pain, since I'm so far away from everyone else.

Not that I like crowds or anything.

You could always hope to can transported somewhere else next time, but that might just leave you even more isolated.

Well, I'm pretty good at OSP, so it's not a big problem for me... I'm used to going to places without anything on me except the clothes on my back.

Finding a source of fire, relatively clean water or protection must be even easier than usual, around here. You could even grap any Grass-type with Vine Whip if you need a rope.

True, but I'm used to getting the ropes I used cut off at some point. I doubt a Pokémon'll be too pleased about that happening to it.

...You're used to it. That implies multiple people who had reasons to cut your ropes. Are any of them around?
