[ Well, this was certainly something. There were a ton of Stantler racing about and Snake wasn't entirely sure where they'd all come from, but it had been non-stop for a few days now. ]

When the hell are these things going to buzz off?

[ He'd tried to catch a few, but Boss was only level 8 and barely a match for the rampaging Stantler, which made the soldier regret not training him more. Flipping open the Gear, Snake started a call to the network. ]

I hope people are having better luck catching these damn things than I am.

[ Snake was about to continue, when he couldn't help but look up and... ]

[She gives a blank stare for a few seconds, then quirks a corner of her mouth up.]

With that attitude, it's surprising that you still only have the one.

[ He gives a bit of a smile. ]

I had more the last time I was here... I'm slacking this time... Guess I don't like the idea of starting over.

No, I don't imagine you do. How many did you have the last time you were here?

Uhh... [ Rubs his forehead. ] I really don't remember... I know I had six of them in my party. I was catching a lot of them, if I remember.

...Looks like this place's "healing vibe" hasn't done much for your memory, huh?

[ Snake looks briefly saddened and then he changes back to the audio feed. ]

A lot of stuff happened when I went back "home." I can't get too worked up about remembering every damn animal I had in storage.

[Oh, well then she'll just switch right back to audio herself.]

Relax, it was a joke. Though you didn't really seem like the 'collector' type in our previous conversations.

I wasn't much of a collector the first time either, no, but I did catch more of them than I have this time.

Huh. Thought you said you were only in your world for a few hours. Must've been an interesting few hours...

[Which isn't impossible, as she knows.]

[ Sighs. ] It's complicated. People are telling me I've been gone for two and a half years, and I'm starting to feel like that's the case, but it has only been a few hours in my timeline.

I can't begin to understand how these places work.

You never experienced the time that passed here, though. So any changes in your personality would have to be from going back to your world...

[ It's a good thing video was turned off, because Snake is wearing the most obvious "well duh" look he can muster. ]

[Then, flatly.]

Makes you wonder what kind of life-changing events can happen in a matter of a few hours.

[ He growls, his tone changing a bit severely. ]

Look, you have no idea what you're talking about, so why don't you just shut up?

[For a moment, it's almost like she's going to listen. But then she shatters those hopes.]

I imagine that since you'd been here for so long last time, you'd know a bit more about others' situations back home than, say, me. So if you had to take a guess on why we're brought here, using your experiences from here and from home, what would you say?

... I honestly don't know. It just seems random to me.

You don't think the people here have come from bad situations, then?

[ ... Heh. He smiles bitterly. ]

Sure. [ A pause. ] You implying that this place is saving people from their bad situations?

[And her tone is back to nonchalance.]

'Saving' might be a stretch, or no one would ever go home. It's a nice break, though, don't you think?

[ There's a bit of a grumble, and he exhales. ]

Yeah... That's how I feel about it. Relaxing from the mess back "home."
