[ The feed turns on; Snake is looking tired, but what else is new? His brow is furrowed, obviously a lot is on his mind. ]

[ It's all he says for the moment, taking a look around. Marlboro can be heard in the background, emitting smoke from his nostrils. The smoke rises enough for the video feed to see. ]

I just found a guy collapsed on the road. What's going on here?

[ The swarms of Pokemon haven't gone unnoticed to Snake either, but since he's been spending time outside of Olivine, he's only seen them going into the city... not so much leaving it. ]

Pokemon swarms... People collapsing... Hn.

Otacon, what do you make of this?

[Asimov waved his arms around, flailing and looking overall panicky.]

[An Arbok stuck her head into the frame, calmly hissing instead of Asimov's sudden panic.]

[ Marlboro listens calmly, tilting his head somewhat at Asimov's flailing... but when Kotai sticks her head into frame and explains the situation, the flame tortoise opens his eyes somewhat. ]

[ For Snake, it was really strange listening to Marlboro speak to the other Pokemon; for one, it sounded like a bunch of sighs, so he wasn't even sure if the guy was talking or not. ]

[If an Arbok could roll her eyes and seem sarcastic, it would look remarkably like Kotai at that moment.]

[ Marlboro looks at Snake for a moment, then back at the Gear feed, smirking somewhat. ]

[Marlboro looks to Snake, then slowly wanders over to the collapsed man. He gestures his head towards the gear, then to the man again, trying to get Snake to understand.

... it's not working all that well.]

Hn? What are you trying to tell me...

[It was times like these that made Marlboro wish he could at least write. The Torkoal sighs, continually gesturing toward the Gear, then back to the collapsed man.]

[It was the closest he could make to the sound "Hal". Eventually, Snake's eyes widened.]

... Otacon collapsed...?!

[This is a snake with a 8| face, Snake.]

[ Snake looks at the Gear, leaning his head away from it somewhat. what a weird Pokemon. ]

Hey... You guys are staying with him, right?

... [ A pause. He frowns. ] Is... Liquid there?

[Kotai made a sound remarkably like a sigh before nodding slightly--it was a yes on both counts, after all.]

Let me talk to him.

[I'm going to regret this.]

[This is a pleased Arbok. Oh yay, the dumb blond one's going to get yelled at for being dumb~]

[The Pokegear was picked up by a purple tail and thrown in the direction of Liquid's head--mainly because she loved having an excuse to make his life miserable.]

[The Pokegear that got thrown at his head was caught, even though Liquid was currently carrying Otacon. He could multitask like that. That didn't mean that he wasn't annoyed that he was getting pelted with things, not to mention that he was worried as hell about Otacon.]

Dammit, Kotai!

They're called Shedninja. If you look into the back of their shell, they'll suck your soul out.

... That's... [ Looks at the collapsed man. ] Hn... A lot of superstitious stuff, but I guess that doesn't really matter in this world.

Is there a way to get the... "souls" back?

There hasn't been anything announced yet... I'd assume catching the bugs will help, but I don't know how you could get the souls out.

What could a Pokemon want with souls?

It's just a natural trait, I believe. They apparently don't attack, but if you look into them..

Natural trait or not, every animal's ability has a purpose for them. I wonder if it's their food...
