Hey... I'm heading to Violet. I'm going to take the shortcut... With the squirt bottle I got, I should be able to get past the weird tree I've heard is blocking the path through Route 36 or 37... Anyway, I've also received one of Jack Atlus' Pokemon; his Snubbull, Juliette.

If anyone's seen Jack, let him know and I'll return Juliette to him, otherwise I'll train her. I still look forward to battling you someday.

[ Snake pauses, thinking a moment. At least there's no blowing snow right now, that would have been annoying. He's still thinking about his parting with Otacon, and feeling a little bad, but he had to leave Goldenrod. Just sticking around was annoying him, all he wanted to do was slug Liquid in the face. He didn't bother asking Heather if she wanted to come along; her friends were all here, she had a job, he didn't need to just rip her away from that. Besides, why leave your comforts for just one old man? ]

[Fang watches the recording, unaware of the conflicts Snake was dealing with. Mostly, the things that catch her attention are the words "Route 36 or 37". And, of course "the weird tree". She considers her response and gets ready to press the button to make the reply when she hears the even footfalls of a human (or humanoid creature) crunching through the leaves and the last bit of snow. When she looks up, it's none other than the old man himself.

So she gives her typical grin, greeting,] Howdy, stranger. [She looks a little different from the last time Snake saw her-- particularly, her left cheek is red and swollen.
