[having successfully snuck around during the festival happenings and managed to stay hidden the entire time, Snake is congratulating himself on a sneak-well-done by eating a hot dog.
It's a good hot dog, okay.]
... Wonder where Hiruma went...

[But one face she sure HADN'T seen around was Snake's, and it wasn't quite for lack of trying. She'd definitely poked around with her eyes peeled for that distinct old man 'stache-- but given up when she'd seen no sign of him. Bah, he was probably too oooollllddddd to keep up with the likes of her at a carnival like this anyway!]
[Now that she's spotted him after it's over, though, she's trotting up to him, dodging the various people cleaning up after the big event.]
Hey, Snake!
Where were ya? I didn't see you around at all. Did you miss the whole thing?
[Action]
Heather. Hnn, I was there... Didn't see me, huh.
[Action]
[She sees that smirk.]
... You were running around in that box, weren't you?

[On the bright side, if he'd been anywhere near her while the festivities were going on, he'd at least have been able to witness her pushing Otacon down the giant bouncy slide, which was a real hoot.]
GUH. You're weird,, y'know that?
[Action]
But I thought I should train my body, my reflexes, and my stealth operations. Felt like a good opportunity.
[Action]
I guess so. But still!
[.... And then a thought occurred to her. She started giggling. SNAKE THERE IS A POSSIBILITY SHE IS LAUGHING AT YOU, WHAT WILL YOU DO.]
[Action]
[Action]
Did you go down the slide in the box too?
[Because-- ... just. The mental image of a solitary cardboard box climbing up onto the slide and whizzing down it is just-- ... okay, it's incredibly stupid, but IT'S FUNNY TO HEATHER, OK.]
[Action]
[ Reaches his hand over, and flicks your forehead. ] Nutcase. [ HE NEVER ANSWERED THOUGH ]
[Action]
[IT'S OKAY, SHE'LL JUST HAPPILY GO WITH HER MENTAL IMAGE. Because it's glorious. She's still got that goofy grin.]

[Now that she actually had a job, it meant she had pocket money she could throw around on stuff like festival goodies. She was glad she'd picked up that job when she did, even if she DID have the supervisor from hell.]
They had some pretty awesome stuff. I don't think I've tasted food that good in forever.

[Of course, this was somebody who'd been living mainly on take-out and microwave macaroni for about a year. It wasn't that she couldn't cook, she just... hadn't had the motivation to make anything more than that.]

Unless something really important comes up, I'm stickin' around here for awhile.
[Heather was a city girl at heart. She could handle the rigors of travel just fine (even if she did bitch and moan about it a lot), but the wilderness just didn't mesh with her. It was too easy to feel totally alone out there in the middle of nowhere...]
