That goes without saying. You have to be in the right environment to use a box. You can't just equip it in a forest, and the logo on the side is especially important. If you have a box with a Pokeball symbol on it, it's useful for helping you around areas that have Pokemon Centers or PokeMarts.

But if you're somewhere where there's not a lot of people, or buildings of any sort, the box won't be useful and you'll just be drawing attention to yourself.

Still, the box is an important tool for any soldier. I recommend hanging onto it if you've got one.
